A large antique porcelain 'Mandarin Rose' medallion vase, decorated with scenes of festivities surrounded by butterflies, scrolls, and floral motifs. The handles of the vase are fashioned as a pair of gilded 'foo dogs' facing one another, while the neck of the vase features relief-molded dragons, also gilded. The vase originates from China and dates to the mid-19th century (Qing Dynasty).
Dimensions:
Height: 61,4cm
Diameter mouth: 18,8cm
Diameter bottom: 17,2cm
Condition:
The vase is in reasonable condition, considering its age. There are two old restorations along the rim of the opening (see photos). There are also two small chips on the dragons. Additionally, there is an old hairline crack in the neck that extends from the inside to the outside; it is approximately 10 centimeters long and is only visible from the exterior under UV light. No other damage or restorations are present (UV-checked).
Every item we sell has been carefully checked for any damages and restorations. We make use of UV light to check this properly. Good packaging and shipped with a tracking number.
